GUIDE

From Beat to Release: A Practical Workflow

Choose the license first

Pick the smallest license that covers how you will release the song. MP3 suits a straightforward release, WAV gives an uncompressed file, Stems adds the separate tracks for mixing, and Exclusive removes the beat from sale for other artists. Current prices are listed on the Licenses page (/licenses).

Download and keep your files

Download the beat from your library and store the delivered license document next to the audio files. Distributors and platforms may ask for it, and it is the record of what you are allowed to do.

Prepare the session

Import the beat into your DAW, confirm the tempo and key, and map the arrangement. If you bought stems, align every track from bar one before you start recording so edits stay in sync.

Record and mix

Record your vocals over the beat and leave headroom on the master. Mix the voice against the beat rather than pushing the beat down; small level changes are easier to reverse than heavy processing.

Set the credit line

Credit the beat as Prod. Jyroz in the title metadata and wherever credits are displayed. Keep the spelling consistent across the release, the distributor form and any promotional copy.

Before you publish

Check the license document, the credit line, the audio files and the artwork. Do not register the beat with Content ID unless we have agreed to it in writing. Once those four points are settled, you can schedule the release.
